Give Day Hits 10-Year Milestone with Strong Support

Marking its 10th anniversary over Picnic Day weekend, the UC Davis community rallied for Give Day 2026 to celebrate a decade of impact. With nearly 4,500 donations made both online and in person, this year’s event raised almost $3.9 million. Since its launch in 2017, Give Day has raised more than $32 million from over 56,000 donors.

For a fourth consecutive year, Development and Alumni Relations employees, with Gunrock alongside them, traveled across campus in cow-themed golf carts dubbed “Fund-Grazers,” generating buzz for the event.

Give Day Sets New Fundraising Record

The spirit of Give Day was in full swing as the UC Davis community rallied together for the ninth annual celebration, held over Picnic Day weekend. With more than 4,100 donations made both online and in person, this year’s event raised nearly $4.5 million — surpassing the previous dollar amount record of $4.1 million set in 2022.

Give Day Reaches ‘Greater Heights,’ Tops $4 Million

The theme for this year’s Give Day, “Reaching Greater Heights,” proved to be prophetic as the eighth-annual event was one of the most successful ever. With more than 4,700 online and in-person donations, the annual event brought in more than $4.1 million, blowing past the nearly $3.4 million raised in 2023.

Give Day Shines Bright With $3.4 Million Raised

The UC Davis community provided glowing support for this year’s Give Day over a sunny Picnic Day weekend. With more than 4,800 online and in-person donations, the 2023 giving event raised nearly $3.4 million dollars. Showing their tremendous dedication and commitment, more than 650 UC Davis employees donated this Give Day.

Colleges, departments, units, athletic teams and more are all getting ready for Give Day, a 29-hour online and in-person fundraising drive to support initiatives at UC Davis Health, our veterinary hospitals and the UC Davis campus. This year’s event runs Friday and Saturday (April 14-15).

A Rising Tide of Employee Giving

Employee giving at UC Davis is on the upswing, generating more than $3 million so far this fiscal year — up from some $1.7 million at the end of June 2021.

That generosity includes enthusiastic participation during April’s Employee Giving Month, when nearly 2,000 faculty and staff across UC Davis and UC Davis Health donated more than $240,000.

Together Again: Give Day and Picnic Day Return to Campus

Give Day and Picnic Day are poised for a jubilant return to campus for the first time since 2019, featuring all the traditional favorites like the parade, Doxie Derby and Chemistry Magic Show — along with plenty of opportunities to support UC Davis academic programs, research, services and scholarships across campus and beyond.

Another Record-Breaking Give Day

It’ll take more than a pandemic to stop Aggie generosity. This year’s Give Day, which ended on Saturday, blew past last year’s record by nearly $1 million.

By day’s end, Give Day had brought in $3,467,783 from 5,663 gifts. That’s up from $2.6 million from 4,825 gifts last year. Donations came in from 46 states and 16 countries.

The tremendous show of support left event organizers and UC Davis leadership feeling both moved and deeply thankful.

5th Give Day Sparks Enthusiasm

The pandemic didn’t stop UC Davis Give Day from breaking records last year, and it looks like this year’s 29-hour event, coming up Friday into Saturday, April 16-17, is keeping up the great momentum.

Community donors have stepped up to offer 233 challenges worth more than $2.3 million. Last year’s Give Day featured 166 challenge gifts — a record at that time — worth $1.9 million. The event ultimately raised $2.6 million.
