Genome Biologist and Department Chair Named New Biological Sciences Dean

Frédéric Chédin, a professor and chair of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and a renowned expert in genome biology, will be the next dean of the UC Davis College of Biological Sciences, or CBS. Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Croughan selected Chédin to lead the college following a nationwide search. He will start Sept. 1.

New Dean Named for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

Ashley Stokes, professor and dean emeritus at the University of Tennessee, will join UC Davis as its new dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences on July 1.

School of Education Has New Dean: Lauren Lindstrom

Interim Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter today (Feb. 6) announced the appointment of Lauren E. Lindstrom as the new dean of the School of Education. She holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership and most recently served as associate dean of Research and Faculty Development in the College of Education at the University of Oregon.

College of Letters and Science Dean Appointed

Interim Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter today (Feb. 2) named Elizabeth Spiller as dean of the College of Letters and Science, fulfilling one of the key recommendations from the May 2015 final report of the Work Group on the Reorganization of L&S. Spiller will begin her tenure as dean on March 6.
